PCA Vision and Values:

  • Small-town and rural life is valued, respected and preserved.
  • The value of our small-town and rural lifestyle equals or exceeds the economic value of rampant development.
  • County and city governments should be run for the benefit of residents rather than for the benefit of big business and developers.
  • The rights of the individual citizens and residents to enjoy their lives and property should take priority over the economic interests of big business and developers.
  • Economic efforts should focus more on helping small, locally owned businesses grow rather than giving tax payer funded subsidies to big corporations.
  • Population growth and economic growth are not the same.
  • Eminent domain should never be used to take homes and business properties away from their owners just to give those properties to developers for more profitable use.
  • Property maintenance codes, especially in rural areas, should be limited to matters presenting a clear and imminent threat to life, health, or safety.
  • Land use and zoning regulations should be written and applied in a manner that protects current residents from the intrusion of incompatible types of land uses.
