What is PCA?

Welcome

The Putnam Citizens Alliance promotes the maintenance of fair and representative local government that is responsive to the citizens instead of special interests.

The PCA was formed in the spring of 2006 in response to several citizens groups to join together to work to preserve the quality of life in Putnam County.

Community representatives from all across Putnam County have formed this organization to promote a shared vision for small town life that is valued, respected and preserved.

*PCA is a non-profit organization but is also a Political Action Committee. As such, any donations to PCA are not tax deductible.

Putnam Citizens Alliance Endorses Earl Ballengee And Mary Kay Engelking For County Commission

June 11, 2008 — Putnam Citizens Alliance president Dr. Richard Perallon announced that PCA has voted to endorse county commission candidates Earl Ballengee and Mary Kay Engelking in their respective races. Ballengee, a Republican, is running for the District 1 county commission seat, which is currently held by Nancy Harris. Engelking, a Democrat, is seeking the District 5 seat currently held by Brad Purcell.

"PCA is proud to endorse Earl Ballengee and Mary Kay Engelking because they understand the importance of our county's rural, small-town values," Perallon said. "They will see to it that Putnam County is run for the benefit of Putnam County's residents rather than for the benefit of developers, big corporations, and other special interests. That puts Earl and Mary Kay squarely in line with PCA's goals of promoting constitutional and responsible government for Putnam County."

Putnam Citizens Alliance is a non-partisan volunteer organization advocating reform of local government in Putnam County.  As detailed on the PCA website, PCA's goals include establishing a county charter (constitution), protecting existing residential neighborhoods and agricultural areas from incompatible large-scale development, and reducing unnecessary regulations imposed on rural residents by urban-style property maintenance codes.

"The fact that PCA has endorsed a Republican in one county commission race and a Democrat in another was just a coincidence," Perallon added.  "But it does show that PCA is non-partisan.  We don't care what party a person belongs to; we are interested only in who will bring the right values and priorities to Putnam County government."
